Random Kid Pictures from September-October 2010

Kinley Elizabeth: 4 Months Old

*I'm not sure how much you weigh. Your 4 month checkup isn't until next Tuesday, but I expect you are around 12 lbs. We shall see!!

*You are becoming so alert. You are all smiles and love to see people you know - like Mamaw, Papaw, Mimi, Poppy, Daddy, Maddox, and of course, your favorite..Mommy!

*You are starting to sit up really well in your boppy. Every night this week I have put you in the boppy while Daddy and I make dinner. It works well. You like to watch us move about the kitchen.

*You are also lifting your upper body up and holding your head up while on your tummy! Good practice for crawling.

*You are starting to like toys. You grab things and pull them to your mouth. You like to watch bright lights. You stare at the yellow caution label on your carseat.

*Car rides usually put you to sleep. You like to be rocked or bounced when going to sleep. You sleep well in your crib.

*You started cereal this month. You like it well enough. You still wake up for 1 night feeding around 3am. Mommy and Daddy are very ready for you to stop doing that!

*You wearing 0-3 month clothes mostly, but many 3-6 month outfits fit you. You're getting chunky. I love it!!

*You coo and do this weird noise with your tongue (almost like a raspberry), talking away to people. I think you're going to be a talkative thing when you start learning words! I bet you'll be an early talker. Let's see if I'm right!! :)

*The sound of Daddy's voice stops your crying pretty immediately. You love him.

It's crazy how much you're growing and changing every day! It's amazing to see how much you take in the world around you. You're such a pretty little girl, and I can't wait to see you blossom and learn more and more.

Happy Birthday Daddy (Donald's 31st Birthday Adventure)

For Don's 31st birthday, we went to St. Louis - just the two of us - for a weekend getaway. We arrived Friday in time for dinner and decided to enjoy the hotel restaurant, Red Kitchen and Bar, at the Hyatt Regency by the Arch in downtown St. Louis. Afterward, we made our way to the Lemp Brewery and took our chances in their haunted house. It was one of the best I've ever been to - as far as Hollywood quality. Saturday, we woke up and had a nice quick breakfast at the largest Starbucks I've ever been in my entire life! I had a pumpkin scone, which was awesome. Then, we went to Six Flags where we were able to ride everything we wanted to ride (and many times twice in a row) within 3 hours. There were hardly any crowds and the weather was perfect. Next, we took a quick nap before heading to Bailey's Chocolate Bar. I had a white chocolate and raspberry martini - also yum. Don had "the Mexican" which was crazy. Later that night, we got to hear one of my favorite bands, Simon, and see an old pal, Lee Johnsey. We also got to hang out with some of the coolest people with A Bit Shifty. Sunday, we had lunch at Cheesecake Factory and began our drive home. It was a weekend full of fun and adventure and some good quality time with my husband!! Happy Birthday, babe!!

Family Fair Fun

We (Donald, Papaw foy and me) took Maddox to the Midsouth Fair this year. He had a blast!! He rode 3 rides, played on a slide and playhouse thing that was set up as an exhibit (good free fun) and just looked around at all the rides in awe! His face when we arrived at the fair with all the activity and lights and motion - was priceless.

The bumble bee ride with Mommy! Don and I had to get our "grown up" ride in as well!
Family Photo Op!

You can't go the fair without a funnel cake!
This was actually Don's first one!
