Maddox: 17 Weeks Old

Here is a picture of Maddox with his big Christmas stuffed animal that Mimi Carol bought him. It's bigger than he is!! He loved cuddling with it. It was so cute tonight - 2 things: 1) My dad started going "goo goo" and "geeeee" doing baby talk with Maddox, and Maddox was laughing big time. I guess he just needed someone to talk to him in his language! ha. 2) We were at the mall, and my dad was sitting with him on a bench. Maddox would watch people walk by. It was so cute - he would zero in and turn his head from left to right just following them as they went by. It's unbelievable how much he is observing!!

Maddox's First Thanksgiving

We had a great time at Thanksgiving! LaDonna and DT and Mike and Teresa came in town for Thanksgiving with the Mayalls and my sister was in town for Thanksgiving too. We spent time with family, watched movies, ate lots of good food, and played games. I shot a gun for the first time over the weekend! My favorite was a 22 revolver. It was a little scary, but at least I can say now that I did it. Maddox is 16 weeks old! I can't believe it. I put up our Christmas tree today and put together an early Christmas present for Maddox too. It's a Baby Einstein jumperoo thing. Pictures of both will be posted soon.

Too Young for an Attitude
It's so funny. Maddox is only 3 months old, and yet, he already has a little temper! It's hilarious. He gets frustrated (impatient little booger) and will throw a little fit! I wonder where he gets that temper from? (DADDY!!) Hehe. It's just funny to see him cry out for 2 seconds and then crinkle his forehead, only to instantly get quiet and wait to see if he gets what he wants. If not, he'll cry out again! It's so funny.

Maddox: 13 Weeks Old

In honor of Uncle Lonny and Cousin Kyle - Maddox in a John Deere outfit. :-) Mimi and Grandpa Larry got this outfit for him, and it's so so cute!! I especially love the hat with the little tractor on it. Hehe. Maddox is getting so big. He's scooting, holding his head up, eating cereal...what's next?? He's such a joy. I can't believe he's nearly 3 months old. Where has the time gone?

Maddox: 12 Weeks Old

Mr. Maddox is FINALLY sleeping all night!! Yay!!! The night before last, he went down at 11:00 PM and slept until almost 5:00 AM. I got so excited. I hoped it would continue, and last night, he went down at 10:30 PM and slept until almost 6:00 AM!! I can't believe it. He's getting so big. He is holding his head up for a long time on his own. He coos and smiles a ton. He loves bath time. It's amazing how much they change so quickly. Before I know it, he's going to be walking!! I love my little man...

Fun at the Fultons
Maddox and I went with Carol, Mark, Becky and Matt to Bigelow, AR to visit close family friends of the Mayalls - The Fultons (Mike and Rena). It was Alicia's (their daughter) birthday, and they planned a big family shin-dig. We rode horses, 4 wheelers, had a big bond fire with smores - it was a blast. Maddox enjoyed his first bondfire and being outside. The Fultons have a beautiful home, and I can't wait to visit them again soon!!

Maddox's Cereal Experience

So, Dr. Larkin said to start giving Maddox cereal at 12 weeks. Well, he has been starving and wanting to eat every 2 hours. So, I decided to introduce cereal now (he's a little over 10 weeks). I've just been giving him a tad bit - to get him used to the spoon and just see how he responds to it. So far so good!! Here's a cute picture of him attempting to eat his rice cereal. So cute!

2 Month Checkup

We went to the doctor yesterday. Maddox is doing great. He weighs 11 lb 4 oz and is 23 inches long! Dr. L said he's in the 75th percentile, and will be above-average height! That's good, since his mommy and daddy aren't so tall. :-) He's a growing boy!! His belly button is, in fact, an umbilical hernia (mommy is a google genius). Dr. L confirmed that it's asymptomatic and should go away on its own by time he's 2. He still hears his heart mur-mur. We're supposed to go back to see the cardiologist next month. It could take several more months to heal up - but we'll know more as time goes. Everything looked good. He got his first shots, which broke my heart. He's been a little fussy today, but we're glad all is well. That's the 4-1-1!!

Maddox is 2 Months Old!

Can you believe it? He has his 2 month check-up at the doctor on Monday. He gets his first vaccinations, which is sad. I'll let everyone know how the doctor's appointment goes. I want Dr. Larkin to check his belly button. It's been sticking out and just weird looking. It's not like an outie. I was google-ing, and I read about an umbilical hernia, and I'm thinking that is probably what it is. If that is the case, it should go away by time he's 2 years old. Here is a picture of him in his new outfit I got at BabyGap. I couldn't resist the hat!! LOL
