Maddox's Second Christmas

Maddox had a great Christmas this year. We celebrated with the Mayalls on Christmas Eve. Maddox got a new stick horse, a musical guitar, cool books, clothes, blocks, and lots of other goodies from his Mimi and Popie. Aunt Becky and Uncle Mark got him a cool fuel station with blocks and buttons and all sorts of cool gadgets.

On Christmas Day, we went to my parents in Olive Branch and spent the entire weekend at their house. Papaw and Mamaw Foy got Maddox a stationary car frame, a bouncing zebra, a tool bench, and some books. We got Maddox a lego table.

Probably his favorite thing of all was a 3 foot Mickey Mouse that plays music and sings "Deck the Halls". Thanks to his Great Granny!

He has been enjoying his gifts and loved ripping all the paper. I know the holidays will just get more and more fun as Maddox gets older and develops interests of his own.

Maddox thinks his daddy is the funniest person on Earth. Even more hilarious, when Daddy JUMPS!! I don't think I have ever heard him laugh as hard at anything so far, as he laughs when Don jumps. It's the little things, right? :) Too cute!

New Videos from November Fun

Maddox has turned in to a monkey overnight!! He wants to climb up on EVERYTHING! It's probably a typical boy thing, but he scares me! This is an example of how he uses things as leverage to get where he's wanting to go. He has no fear. You can see - even though he falls down, he keeps attempting to climb. (DISCLAIMER: Maddox was not injured during the taping of this adventure.) Haha!

This video was taking at my Aunt Annita and Uncle Lonny's house in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. We went to visit them a couple of weeks ago. Maddox LOVED this stool that he found. He would carry it everywhere and then sit on it. He always turned his back to the stool and backed up until he found it and then would sit down. You can imagine the funny moments when he didn't back straight up and ended up sitting down on the floor instead of the stool. His face was too funny.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a very nice Thanksgiving this year. We spent Thanksgiving Day with the Mayalls. Carol fixed an awesome dinner, and we spent time with Don's mom and dad and Matt and Cara (and Sweetpea and Tia!) Maddox got to sit at the table with everyone, in a booster-seat style setup that his Mimi made for him. He thought he was big stuff! Friday, we went to Olive Branch to have Thanksgiving with Mamaw and Papaw Foy. My dad outdid himself with dinner. We played outside for awhile with Papaw and Uncle Pat hung Christmas lights. Papaw also took Maddox on a quick 4 wheeler ride (which Maddox loves!) He is all boy. Here are some pics from our time in Olive Branch.

The Puppy Says "Ruff"

Maddox is starting to learn his animal sounds. The first one he has down is what noise a puppy makes. In this video you also see how funny he thinks it is when I tell him to "be careful." He likes to crawl under the coffee table and has bumped his head a few times. So, when he starts to go under, I have been telling him to "Be Careful!" which he thinks is histerical. Go figure!

Baby Update

We had our first doctor's appointment last Wednesday. Everything is looking good! As you can see below, the baby is a little peanut right now. It was too early to hear the heartbeat, but the EKG showed a whopping 160 beats per minute! We got to see the little heart pounding away, and we look forward to our next appointment when we should be able to hear it. So far, I'm dealing with the typical nausea and fatigue - but I must say things so far have been pretty smooth and not near as sick as I was with Maddox! Due date is June 24th! I'll keep you posted.

Laughing So Hard It Hurts...

Donald and Maddox were playing with a ball in Maddox's room, and D accidentally got it stuck on top of Maddox's armoire. So, when D went to jump up to try to get it off, Maddox started laughing really hard. He thought it was hilarious!! Here are a few videos we caught. He laughed so hard, he started kind of whining because it hurt. I love his little giggle. So adoreable!

Maddox enjoys playing in his room. He has discovered "eyes" and likes to point them out on his dolls. He also loves to throw balls (like any boy) and counts to 3 in his own baby jibberish before he releases the ball into the air. He's such a smarty britches. Maddox Update

Maddox is getting so big! He is walking all over the place! Exploring and learning more and more every day. He loves to smile and laugh. His favorite things to do are to go outside, play the drums or anything remotely like a drum - he'll even use your knee, if you don't mind...and books. He loves to read! His latest thing is "eyes". He points to characters' eyes in books, and he'll point to his own eyes and say "eyes". It's very cute! I thought I'd post some videos from the past week or so; so you can see how big he's getting!

This video was taken after dinner. Maddox decided it was funny to throw his ravioli in the floor. So when we were finished with dinner, Maddox had to help Mommy clean it up. He'd pick up the ravioli and put it in the trash can, like a good boy....

I thought I better post a video of how Maddox is walking now. He is still getting the hang of it. It is so funny because when he gets going, he practically runs. It's like he has to go fast to stay ahead of the fall. So cute.

Sorry for the naked baby video AND the messy house, but I had to share some of Maddox's first steps. He walks a lot better thant his now (as long as he's barefoot). With shoes, he still looks about like this. I'll try to get a video of him walking now. He's getting better and better every day! :)

Maddox Update: One Year Old

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile! Maddox is doing great. He has started walking! He turned ONE on August 19th, and had a great one-year checkup with Dr. Larkin. He is in the 50-70% for his height, which is crazy. He is already wearing 18-24 month clothes and a size 5 shoe that will be tight on him any day. Growing like a weed! He is drinking whole milk now and eating lots of table food. Where did my baby go????

Gulf Shores (Part 1)

My family is at the beach, for our annual Gulf Shores vacation. We're staying at Summer House, which is great. This is Maddox's first time to see the ocean. He isn't too fond of the actual beach. He prefers the pool. :)

Maddox: 11 Months Old!

To celebrate Maddox's 11 month old birthday and the gorgeous Memphis weather this past weekend, we went to the Memphis Zoo. It was a lot of fun! Maddox wasn't as enthused as I thought he'd be - but he did pay attention when you pointed animals out. He says "gack" for a duck (instead of quack) which is adoreable. I think he would have liked the acquarium and birds, but we didn't make it to that side of the zoo. The young adults were zoo'ed out. We'll have to go back some time and see the fish and birds.

We had a great weekend. We'll be headed to Florida this coming weekend for a week at the beach. I'll be sure to take lots of good pictures of Maddox and his first experience with sand and ocean. It should be fun! I bet he'll love it...

Maddox had a great 4th of July weekend. Friday, we spent the evening at Mamaw and Papaw Foys' house. Uncle Patrick and Daddy set off fireworks. Maddox did so well - just watched them and didn't even appear scared. Saturday, we spent the evening with Mimi and Poppie Mayall. We watched the big firework show in Washington, DC on the tv. The weekend was full of fun and relaxation. Sunday was just a good ole' "hanging around the house" day, enjoying the new drum and the new car bed. NO he isn't doing so well sleeping in it just yet, but we're working on it! :-)
