Maddox: 3D-4D Ultrasound

Today we took pictures of Maddox at 30 weeks GA. It was a 3D/4D ultrasound. He wouldn't move his hands away from his face to get a really good picture, but we have some awesome shots anyway. He is 2 lbs and 12 oz and growing a ton! We think he has my nose and his daddy's mouth, but only time will tell.

Enjoy!

Birthing Class: Week 1

We attended our first birthing class last night. It was actually pretty fun! We had to do cheesy introductions where we tell our names, due date, boy/girl, best experience and biggest fear/concern. My best experience was filling Maddox move. My biggest concern/fear is pain of labor and birth. We did some ice breaker activities, talked about true labor vs. false labor and what to do if your water breaks at home. We also learned the Taylor sit and Taylor press and a couple of breathing techniques. The class was very informative. It was comforting to know we are not alone in our concerns or experiences. I heard comments all night and thought "me too!" and same for Donald. I'll keep you posted on experiences of upcoming classes. It's a 7 week course. By time the course ends, I'll be 3 weeks from due date! Scary!! Shower is this weekend. I'll post pictures soon.

Project Nursery

We finally got the changing table put together and armoire moved into the nursery. I got all the clothes hung up and getting things organized. We're planning to get a glider and my parents are getting wooden letters that spell MADDOX to hang above the changing table on the wall. Almost there!! Here are some pictures of the progress...

Project Nursery: Phase III - Furniture

The Mayalls surprised us (well, Donald knew...they surprised ME) with a crib and changing table for Maddox. I was so speechless when Don told me the two huge boxes were from his family. It was very thoughtful of them, and we are so thankful. Mimi (Carol) and Grandma (Lettie) helped me pick out his crib mattress today. It was a lot of fun putting together the bedding. Don hasn't had a chance to put together the changing table just yet, but here is a picture of the crib and bedding. I'll post more pictures as the nursery comes along. Hard to believe we only have 10-12 weeks left until he gets here!

Project Nursery: Phase II - Painting

We got a lot accomplished this weekend! My mom and my mother-in-law helped me register at BabiesRUs. That was fun! While we were doing that, my dad and Don painted the nursery. I originally was going to paint it a light brown color, but ended up deciding on blue last minute (typical Marisa). I'm so glad I did. It's really nice, and I think Maddox will enjoy it. It's very soothing. It's starting to come together. We just have to get furniture in there and we'll be ready for our little guy to come home.

Doctor's Appointment: 26 Weeks (6 1/2 Months)

I haven't posted anything in awhile, and I apologize. I will have some nursery pictures up soon. My June doctor's appointment is tomorrow. They are testing for gestational diabetes. I have to drink this glucose drink (like a flat orange soda) and then get some blood taken. It shouldn't be too bad, but since I had an episode with my blood surgar a couple of weeks ago, I am a little nervous. The reassuring thing is that my blood surgar went low all of the sudden, rather than high. I think diabetes is high blood sugar. What I have is hypoglycemia (pregnancy-induced). I just have to eat every few hours and it seems to do the trick (for my blood surgar and the scale!)

Here's a cute picture I took of Jax and Jada on Memorial Day. More coming soon...
